We attribute our success to our excellent team members and a dedication to operating our business in an environmentally responsible manner.

Our senior management team has over 150 years experience with PMC or its predecessors.

 
Jason Balasch - President

Jason Balasch serves as President of Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of PMC's business activities. Jason has been with PMC since­­­­ 2011, serving in various capacities, most recently as Executive Vice President, NGL Commercial and Facilities. Prior to PMC, Jason was with Enterprise Products Partners L.P. in Houston, Texas from 2000 to 2011, where his duties included executive roles in gas processing, fractionation and storage business units. Jason has also worked for Chevron and TransCanada Corporation in engineering and business development roles.

Sandi Wingert - Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

 

Sandi Wingert serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) and is responsible for accounting, taxation, human resources, risk and planning and information services. Sandi has been with PMC since 2001, serving in various capacities, most recently as Vice President, Corporate Services. Prior to PMC, Sandi was with CANPET Energy Group Inc. from 2000 to 2001. Before joining CANPET, Sandi held various accounting roles with Koch Petroleum and Ernst & Young.

Richard Jensen- Executive Vice President, Operations

Rick Jensen serves as Executive Vice President of Operations of Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) and is responsible for overseeing all Crude Oil and Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG) operations, including engineering, environment, health and safety, land and regulatory activities, as well as supply chain management. Rick brings over 27 years of senior executive experience in global projects and operations across the oil and gas, chemical, and upstream and midstream sectors. Prior to PMC, Rick worked with Nexen Petroleum for 22 years, where he served as Vice President, Middle East, South America, and Africa. Rick has also worked in executive leadership roles at Canadian Occidental Petroleum and Canadian Nexen Chemicals.

Tyler Rimbey - Executive Vice President, Crude Commercial and Pipelines 

Tyler Rimbey serves as Executive Vice President, Crude Commercial and Pipelines of Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) and is responsible for overseeing commercial areas of the business including crude oil trading, crude oil business development, pipelines and logistics, acquisitions and rail and truck transportation. Tyler brings over 25 years of energy industry experience, including commodity trading, marketing and business development. Prior to PMC, Tyler worked with Platino Energy Corp., serving as Vice President of Business Development. Tyler has also worked in executive and senior leadership roles with BP Canada Energy Trading Company, BP Energy Company, Goldman Sachs and Shell in Canada, the US and United Kingdom.

Brad Deets - Senior Vice President, NGL Commercial and Facilities

Brad Deets serves as Senior Vice President, NGL Commercial & Facilities of Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) and is responsible for overseeing all LPG business activities including marketing, supply, logistics and facilities. Brad built his knowledge of the midstream business through a number of roles throughout his 15 years at PMC, including butane marketing, risk management, acquisitions, and most recently as Vice President, LPG Commercial. Prior to PMC, Brad worked with CANPET Energy Group Inc. for a number of years, focusing on crude oil marketing.

Dave Craig - Senior Vice President, Corporate Development

Dave Craig serves as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development of Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) and is responsible for providing support on corporate initiatives’. Dave has been with PMC since 2008, serving most recently as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Dave has over 35 years of experience in the energy industry in various financial roles including accounting, planning, treasury, and mergers and acquisitions as well as natural gas marketing. Prior to PMC, Dave was Vice President of Natural Gas Marketing with Nexen Inc.

Scott Sill - Senior Vice President, Operations

Scott Sill serves as Senior Vice President, Operations of Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) and is responsible for Crude Oil, NGL, and LPG operations in Canada and the United States. Scott joined PMC in April 2006 through PMC's acquisition of the Shafter gas liquids processing facility. Prior to his most recent role as Vice President, Operations, Scott has held increasingly senior operational roles with the Company. His roles have included Vice President of LPG Operations, Managing Director of U.S and Canadian LPG Operations and West Coast District Superintendent. Scott brings over 25 years of operations experience to his role for PMC's business development activities for our Crude Oil and LPG pipelines and assets.

Bill Forward - Vice President, Finance

Bill Forward serves as Vice President, Finance of Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) and is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to the Accounting department, encompassing operational accounting activities, financial reporting and financial processing. Prior to PMC, Bill held senior management positions in accounting and finance for several midstream energy companies, most recently serving as Corporate Controller for Pembina Pipelines Corp. Previously, Bill was Vice-President at Provident Energy Ltd. and served in financial reporting and accounting roles at ENMAX, TransCanada, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Christopher M. Kean - Vice President, Engineering

Chris Kean serves as Vice President, Engineering of Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) and is responsible for overseeing all Crude Oil and Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG) engineering projects including planning and execution and asset integrity. Chris brings more than 25 years’ experience in global projects and operations across the oil and gas, chemical, and oil sands sectors. Prior to PMC, Chris worked with Enbridge Pipelines for over four years, where he served in various capacities, most recently as Project Director for the Cabin Gas Plant project. Chris has also worked in engineering and project management leadership roles for Canadian Natural Resources Limited (11 years), Petro-Canada, and Amoco Chemical and Production Companies.

Sterling Koch - Vice President, Health, Safety, Environment and Regulatory

Sterling Koch serves as Vice President, Health, Safety, Environment and Regulatory of Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) and is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to the health & safety, environment, regulatory, and land activities. Sterling brings over 20 years of energy industry experience, including regulatory and legal affairs, commercial operations, compliance, and security. Prior to PMC, Sterling worked with TransAlta for over 14 years, where he served in various vice president roles, including regulatory and legal affairs, commercial management, and business development. Sterling also brings a background as legal counsel, originating from his days with Western Gas Marketing, Northridge Petroleum, and TransCanada.

Don Lacey - Vice President, Operations

Don Lacey serves as Vice President, Operations of Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) and is responsible for PMC’s Crude Oil, NGL and LPG operations in Canada and the United States. Don joined PMC in 2014, serving most recently as Director, Operations, overseeing various facilities and assets. Prior to PMC, Don spent 8 years with Spectra Energy, working as Director of Operations. Don brings over 10 years of energy industry experience to this role and 30 years of senior leadership experience across several different industries, including Pulp and Paper, Manufacturing, Electrical Generation and Natural Gas Processing.  

Mark Mazerolle- Vice President, Pipelines and Supply

Mark Mazerolle serves as Vice President, Pipelines and Supply of Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) and is responsible for PMC’s pipeline logistics, crude oil supply distribution and optimization activities. Mark has over 19 years of senior management experience in the oil and gas industry serving in various operations, commercial and business development roles. He has been with PMC since 2012, serving most recently as Director, Facilities Business Development, Joint Ventures.  

Michelle Podavin - Vice President, NGL Supply and Facilities

Michelle Podavin serves as Vice President, NGL Supply and Facilities of Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) and is responsible for providing leadership and direction on NGL supply, storage, fractionation, and logistics. Michelle has been with PMC for over 13 years, serving most recently as Director of NGL Supply. Prior to joining PMC, Michelle spent 6 years at major accounting firms in various roles.  

David Schwarz - Vice President, Human Resources

David Schwarz serves as Vice President, Human Resources of Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources, payroll and office services activities. David joined PMC Midstream Canada in August 2009 and brings over 20 years of experience to this role. Prior to joining PMC, David held various senior human resources roles in Calgary, and most recently served as Senior Manager, Human Resources in the ATCO Group of Companies. David has also gained experience working for such companies as Fluor Daniel, Manalta Coal and Superior Propane.

James Shelford - Vice President, LPG Commercial

James Shelford serves as Vice President, LPG Commercial of Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) and is responsible for PMC’s propane and butane commercial activities across North America. James has 13 years’ experience in various commercial roles in the oil and gas industry including the last 6 with PMC, serving most recently as Director of North American Propane. Prior to joining PMC, James spent 5 years with Superior Gas Liquids, where he served in various capacities including market analysis, product distribution and marketing. James also spent two years with Willis, a global risk management firm where he worked primarily with Husky Energy as well as other midsized E&P companies based in Calgary.
