NGL/Crude Scheduler

Due to recent growth and reorganization, Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) has an immediate opening for a highly motivated and skilled individual to fill the role of NGL/Crude Scheduler to be based out of our head office in Calgary, Alberta.  This position reports to a Manager Scheduling, and will appeal to candidates looking for advancement opportunities, while demonstrating their logistics expertise. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the marketing teams to manage delivery of marketing commitments via rail, truck and/or pipe;

  • Coordinating customer orders with various supply points and availability;

  • Understanding rail requirements and origin/destination pairs;

  • Understanding rail capabilities and service by facility;

  • Coordinating customs clearance with other staff for international shipments;

  • Understanding and recording fleet costs, optimizing fleet utilization while minimizing costs;

  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships at loading and unloading facilities; and

  • Coordinating total supply and fleet with other schedulers and traders to capture market opportunities.


  • An undergraduate business degree, with 3–5 years relevant rail scheduling experience;

  • Highly motivated with well-developed communication skills;

  • Must be a self-starter who is committed to improving work processes and comfortable working under minimal supervision;

  • Must be able to contribute within a team environment and adapt methods to new information or changing conditions;

  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and excellent computer skills; and

  • Is willing to be available after hours and weekends from time to time, for emergencies such as plant shut-downs, product contamination, or any other business disruptions.
