Plains LPG Services is currently looking to fill the newly created position of Manager, Business Analysis based in our Long Beach, CA office. This role will report to the Director, Butane US /Western and will be responsible for supporting the trading activities of our marketing group. Duties will include the preparation, review and analysis of budgets, forecasts and long range plans being considered for the Plains LPG assets in relation to the strategic plan. In addition, a strong emphasis will be placed on the ability to interact and maintain senior level communications with the corporate office based in Calgary, AB.
Responsibilities:
- Develop financial models, financial analysis and management reporting;
- Prepare and review annual budgets, long range plans and monthly forecasts including internal management reports;
- Assist in the preparation, review and understanding of budget and forecast variance analysis with senior management and the Financial Reporting group;
- Balance LPG inventory in relation to deal trades and volumetric levels;
- Identify and follow through with improvements in existing processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent discipline, with 5 – 7 years financial analysis and accounting experience in the energy sector;
- CPA designation is preferred;
- 1- 2 years previous management experience in the energy sector, specifically commercial LGP, would be considered an asset;
- Familiar with modeling financial transactions in MS Excel;
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills;
- Attention to detail and the ability to effectively communicate and present to all levels of management;
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
