Custom Treating Services Analyst

Plains is looking for a recent graduate to fill a newly defined Analyst position in our Custom Treating Services group.  This role will report to the Managing Director of Custom Treating Services and will support the group in the overall development and execution of capital projects.  The start date for this position is September 2010 and would provide the candidate with an excellent opportunity to be involved in corporate strategy, new growth and expansion projects for Plains’ Custom Treating Services.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, prepare, and maintain spreadsheets/models for projects and future acquisitions;
  • Work with economic models for project analysis and decision making;
  • Analyze and interpret confidential agreements for potential acquisitions and economic data;
  • Research, review and summarize crude oil competitive market information;
  • Liaise with other departments;
  • Participate in planning sessions, scheduling, administration, and tracking of project based work and field expenditures.

 

 Qualifications:

  • A new graduate of a Bachelor of Commerce program (preference will be given to finance majors);
  • Ability to perform in a quantitative environment;
  • Highly motivated with well developed verbal and written communication skills;
  • Self starter with a willingness to take initiative and ownership in all areas of work and able to quickly grasp business issues;
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision;
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and computer skills (specifically Microsoft Excel);
  • Ability to meet tight, fluctuating deadlines and managing competing priorities;
  • Willingness to go above and beyond to achieve group goals.
