Application Support Analyst

Plains is seeking an ambitious, hard-working individual to join our team of analysts supporting our enterprise level business systems.  The applications touch all aspects of our business and smooth, uninterrupted operations of the systems are critical to the success of our company.  As a member of this key service team you will have daily interaction with business teams across the organization and be responsible to provide timely investigation and resolution to all application-related service desk requests.  In addition you will play a key role in projects to extend functionality and increase our leverage of the systems and the data they store. 

This hands-on position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and analytical skills.  With a focus on customer service you must be flexible to respond to shifting priorities and an ever expanding knowledge base.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support of enterprise business applications;
  • Diagnose and resolve issues while focusing on strategies to avoid similar issues in the future;
  • Work with users to access systems and processes with a goal of recommending and implementing value based system improvements;
  • Work with teams on business system implementations, upgrades, enhancements and integrations;
  • Project based and periodic system analysis work; process review and mapping, change management testing;
  • Facilitate user training sessions on various business applications;
  • Prepare varying levels of documentation targeted to technical and end user audiences;
  • Foster professional relationships with key business users across the various groups we support;
  • Maintain strong working relationships with key software vendors and their support staff;
  • Work within our internally mandated framework to ensure regulatory compliance for all work done.

 Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of post secondary training in an information systems or business field;
  • Minimum of 4 years experience working with enterprise level business systems;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to learn and understand new systems quickly;
  • Strong documentation skills;
  • Proven problem solving ability;
  • A positive outlook with a can-do attitude;
  • Knowledge of midstream oil and gas business cycle, including Form A, form C, Notice of Shipment and  Settlement are desirable;
  • Experience with any/all of the following software products: OMS, Enterovision, Cobra, Dynamics AX viewed as favorable.
